The Gorman-Rupp Co, USA Profile Gorman-Rupp manufactures pumps and pumping systems for the municipal, water, wastewater, sewage, industrial, construction, petroleum, fire and OEM markets. Pumps include centrifugal, submersible, trash, rotary gear and air-driven diaphragm pumps. In addition, Gorman-Rupp manufactures a complete line of packaged lift stations and booster stations which include pumps, motors, controls, piping, accessories and enclosures. Manufacturing takes place at six locations: Mansfield and Bellville, Ohio; Sand Springs, Oklahoma; Toccoa, Georgia; St Thomas, Ontario, Canada, and Mullingar, Ireland. Analysis 2000 was Gorman-Rupp’s 14th consecutive year of sales and earnings growth. All of the company’s subsidiaries and divisions were profitable, reflecting in particular successful Six Sigma practices. To provide logistical support for targeted growth in global markets Gorman-Rupp opened a distribution centre in Denmark last year and is planning to open another in Singapore in 2001. New product launches in 2000 included The Super T Series which should extend Gorman-Rupp’s lead in the industrial and wastewater markets. The company also added two models to its Prime Aire line of trash handling contractor pumps.

Recent Events Gorman-Rupp has completed phase one of the building consolidation and expansion project sq ft manufacturing facility. The project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget. The group’s activities are focused on four business areas: Pulp and Paper; Rolling Mills and Strip Processing Lines; Environment ant ‘roccss Technologies; and Feed Technologies. Andritz’s Other Operations, which account for 2% of sales. include the planning Ievetopment and marmfacture of water turbines, large-scale pumps for selected applications, pumps for the primary and secondar) oops in nuclear power stations, centrifugal pumps for the pulp and paper industry, as well as space technology components. 4nalysis For fiscal 2000, Andritz Group’s sales reached e936.8, which :orresponds to a 42.9% increase on 1999’s performance. The main reason for this increase lies in the first-time consolId&ion of Andritz-Ahlstrom Corp from I July 2000. Geographically, the most important region for the Andritz Group emains Europe, with 49.3% of sales going to this area. North America increased to 29,2% in 2000, while Asia’s share Jropped to 16.6% overall. Order intake increased to @?I082.7 nillion, the highest in the company’s history and a 69.6% ncrease from 1999. The Group’s 2000 EBITA reached +X4.3 nillion, an increase of 94.3% over the previous year. This was .he highest value achieved in the history of Andritz.
