Incidently, the President of the Israel Quality Assurance Society mentioned t h a t I s r a e l i members o f t h e Q u a l i t y A s s u r a n c e P r o f e s s i o n s had t h e h i g h e s t p a s s ing r a t e i n t h e most r e c e n t CQE e x a m i n a t i o n s . They have b e e n p r i v i l e g e d t o h a v e a l a r g e number o f s p e c i a l i s t s i n I s r a e l who h a v e d e v o t e d t h e i r t i m e and e f f o r t i n tile t r a i n i n g o f CQE's and CRE's. Each o f t h e ASQC Fellows n o t e d above h a v e contributed over the years to this achievement. I s r a e l i r e s i d e n t s who h a v e a l s o c o n t r i b u t e d t o t h e CQE s u c c e s s r a t e a r e Dr. E l i a z e r Levy, S e r g e Samuel, Dr. J u d a h Lando, R i c h a r d K l i n e , Dr. Benjamin E p s t e i n , and t h e summer l e c t u r e r , Yehuda Tamir, ASQC F e l l o w . ~ e a u t h o r o f t h i s r e p o r t on t h e m e e t i n g was asked t o r e p r e s e n t ASQC and p r e p a r e some o p e n i n g remarks f o r t h e C o n f e r e n c e . I r e v i e w e d 14 s u c c e s s i v e y e a r s o f v i s i t i n g I s r a e l and o b s e r v i n g t h e i r growth i n i n d u s t r y , c o n s t r u c t i o n , food p r o c e s s i n g , e l e c t r o n i c s , and a i r c r a f t . I t was a l s o o b s e r v e d t h a t a 4 - y e a r c u r r i c u l a i n Q u a l i t y A s s u r a n c e had b e e n o r g a n i z e d and a u t h o r i z e d by t h e e d u c a t i o n a l authorities in Israel. T h a t , a f t e r a t t e n d i n g t h e F i r s t C o n f e r e n c e , where l e s s t h a n 100 a t t e n d e d , and o b s e r v i n g a group o f o v e r 350 i n a t t e n d a n c e , i t was a t h r i l l long t o be remembered. The number o f i n s t i t u t i o n s i n I s r a e l s p o n s o r i n g and s u p p o r t i n g Q u a l i t y A s s u r a n c e was e n v i a b l e . In a d d i t i o n t o ISQA, S t a n d a r d s I n s t i t u t e o f I s r a e l , the Productivity Institute, t h e M a n u f a c t u r e r s A s s o c i a t i o n , t h e A r c h i t e c t s and E n g i n e e r s A s s o c i a t i o n , t h e Armed S e r v i c e s , and t h e consumer movement, as w e l l as t h e l e g a l c o r z u n i t y , each have had a t l e a s t one C o n f e r e n c e on t h e s u b j e c t o f Quality and/or Reliability.
