Filtration Group acquires Clear Edge

G

amma Holding NV has sold its Clear Edge Filtration business unit to the Chicago-based Filtration Group Corp. Filtration Group, which is owned by Madison Capital Partners, is a collection of specialized filtration companies. Including Clear Edge, Filtration Group has revenues of more than US$700 million. Clear Edge will be part of Filtration Group’s Liquid Process division. Clear Edge will remain headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA and will continue to serve the mining and minerals, chemical processing, wastewater treatment and bulk food and beverage markets. Rick Von Drehle, CEO of Clear Edge, said: “We are delighted to have been acquired by Filtration Group. We look forward to working with the management team and other businesses of Filtration Group to build a truly unique filtration company. COMMENT Clear Edge is one of three acquisitions that the Filtration Group has completed in recent weeks. Jonell, a provider of filter elements to the oil and gas industry joined the Filtration Group in April 2013, while AG Industries, a manufacturer of respiratory filtration products and complimentary accessories, was acquired in May 2013. ■

Contech buys Imbrium

est Chester, Ohio-based Contech Engineered Solutions has bought the Imbrium Systems Group from clean technology company Monteco Ltd. The acquisition includes Imbrium’s Jellyfish stormwater filtration product line. The Jellyfish filter is an engineered stormwater treatment technology featuring pretreatment and membrane filtration in a compact stand-alone treatment system that removes stormwater pollutants. Contech will continue to market its own stormwater

management products, including the Stormwater Management Stormfilter, in conjunction with the Jellyfish filter. “This is a key strategic move for Contech as we continue to strengthen our position as the market leader in the stormwater industry. The addition of the Jellyfish filter to our portfolio provides our customers with expanded solution options for their stormwater needs,” said Ron Keating, Contech’s president and CEO.
