COORDINATING EDITORS’ NOTE On behalf of the Board of Editors, we are pleased to announce a significant stylistic embellishment and enlarged publication capacity for the journal. Beginning with Volume 32, Numbers 1–2, January, 2005, papers published in the journal are typeset instead of being printed from camera-ready manuscripts. Furthermore, each volume of the journal will hereafter consist of 10 issues encompassing 1400 pages, up from eight issues and 1200 pages. The guide for authors which pertain to all newly submitted manuscripts were included in Volume 32, Numbers 1–2 (a shortened version appears at the end of this issue). These instructions are almost identical to those for the International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, which is its companion publication. One major difference is the territorial jurisdiction of the editors. Another source which can be consulted for the instructions is the web site of the Communications journal, which is http://www.elsevier.com/locate/ichmt. A special advantage of the typeset format is that the journal is now fully accessible through ScienceDirect (www.sciencedirect.com). Papers bin pressQ will now be accessible on ScienceDirect through the journal’s Articles in Press section and are citable through the use of the DOI number system. We are grateful to Elsevier for making these enhancements possible. Special thanks are accorded to Arno Schouwenburg, Senior Publishing Editor; Lynne Honigmann, Publisher; and also to Liza Keane, Issue Manager. J.P. Hartnett and W.J. Minkowycz Coordinating Editors
