The
F. GESMUNOOand F. VIANI Cortes. Sci. 18, 231 (1978). Reconsideration of the calculations about the values of the first order parabolic rate constants for the oxidation of iron, given in this paper (p. 239, lines 38-40) has revealed that these had been obtained by means of incorrect equations (used before the final edition of Paper 11) in place of the correct equations (36a, 36b, 36c), t and have been reported in place of the right values. Therefore the correct values of the three rate constants are given as functions of the temperature in the form KI (FeO) K~(FeaO~) K3(Fe~Oa)
= 12.89 e x p ( - 41.2/RT) = 2.08 exp(-- 40.8/RT) = 1.29 e x p ( - 40.8/RT)
