Correlation Analysis of EML4-ALK Fusion Gene Mutation and Clinical Features in Patients With Non-small Cell Lung Cancer HAN Zhen*; and Zhang Ying MDS Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region People’s Hospital, Hohhot, China PURPOSE: To explore the mutation rates of Echinoderm Microtubule-Like protein 4- Anaplastic Lymphoma Kinase (EML4-ALK) fusion gene and analyze their correlation with clinical features in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC). METHODS: We collected 41 cases of non-small cell lung cancer patients with EML4-ALK genetic testing of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region People’s Hospital from March 2015 to September 2015. We also collected clinical data of patients’ gender, age, smoking status, histological type and so on. and investigate the correlation between of them. RESULTS: The mutation of EML4-ALK fusion gene was detected in 10 of 41 patients with NSCLC. EML4-ALK fusion gene mutations were associated with age, smoking history, Histological grade and EGFR mutations, and was not associated with pathological type and sex (P > 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: We found that the EML4-ALK fusion gene mutations in NSCLC were more common in patients with no smoking history or a small amount of smoking, age less than 60 years old, poorly organized, and no EGFR mutation in Inner Mongolia region. CLINICAL IMPLICATIONS: In the future it will provide a better basis for the treatment of NSCLC patients with EML4-ALK fusion gene positive in Inner Mongolia region DISCLOSURE: The following authors have nothing to disclose: HAN Zhen, Zhang Ying No Product/Research Disclosure Information DOI:
