The authors regret the following error. On page 279, left column, lines 2–5, the sentence should read: “For each subject, the mass was chosen so that it represented about one third of the maximal voluntary contraction (MVC, 23.5⫾5.5 kg), i.e. 8.2 kg⫾2.7 S.D., equal to 34.9⫾4.8% of MVC).” This error did not change the message of the paper, since all the forces produced by the subjects during their contractions were expressed and analyzed in the paper as percentage of the maximal voluntary contraction, rather than in absolute terms. Moreover, the fact that the contractions did produce muscle fatigue was not based on the absolute load values sustained, but rather on the analysis of the EMG amplitude and median frequency.
