Abstract The corrosion behavior of the Al-Brass alloy which is commonly used as condenser and heat exchanger tubes in desalination plants has been evaluated in natural Kuwait seawater.
Of particular interest was the
corrosion performance the Al-Brass in polluted seawater at room temperature.
The additional effect of sulphide, chlorine, and manganese on
the performance of the alloy was examined.
Electrochemical parameters
such as corrosion potential (EC,,), corrosion current density (JCorr), corrosion rate, critical current (icritical), passive current (ipassive) were obtained.
The electrochemical parameters were measured based on linear
polarization, Tafel plots, and potentiodynamic curves in various conditions.
