Forthcoming Events GRC 87 Sheraton Hotel, Edinburgh, ScoUand 20-23 October 1987 Programme and booking forms for the 6th biennial conference of the Glassfibre Reinforced Cement Association are now available. There will be 38 papers given by speakers from 15 different countries, presenting a wide variety of topics. Projects and products to be described include roofing materials, noise control on motorways and reports of the many applications of GRC in building refurbishment. NOISE AND VIBRATION CONTROL ON CONSTRUCTION SITES London 17th February 1988 InsUtute of AcousUcs The meeting will provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of information on both predictive and measured work which has been undertaken to quantify and reduce the problems of noise and vibration originating from construction sites. Papers are invited on the following: The use of predictive techniques for estimating the likely acoustic impact, along with case studies showing the performance of the models used Techniques for controlling noise and vibration at source Shock wave measurements from piling operations and shot blasting Occupational exposure to noise and vibration Legal aspects of control - including case studies of the use of Section 60 and 61 procedures.
