Clean Diesel Technologies to supply Platinum Plus for reducing diesel particulate in mines Clean Diesel Technologies Inc (CDT) has received an order for its Platinum Plus fuel borne catalyst (FBC) and automatic dosing equipment for use with diesel particulate filters (DPF) on 30 diesel-powered units in underground mines. The order was received from a major mining engine distributor for use in an underground coal mine in Alabama. The Mining Safety Health Administration (MSHA) recently tested and confirmed the ability of the Platinum Plus FBC and a specially catalysed DPF to reduce particulates by 85% with no increase in emissions of nitrogen dioxide. The Platinum Plus FBC is registered with

The world’s first world-scale polytrimethylene terephthalate (PTT) will open in 2003 in Montreal, Canada. The plant has a capacity of 95,000 tonne/y and is a jv between Shell Chemicals Canada and SGF Chemie (a subsidiary of Societé Générale de Financement du Quebec). The plant will use advanced anti-pollution methods including water treatment by bio-oxidation and catalytic air purification.
