Abstract: This session will provide an overview of various models of care utilizing telepsychiatry for a variety of geriatric psychiatry populations. The history of telepsychiatry and unique challenges facing the delivery of such services in the geriatric population will be discussed including strategies for more effective delivery of care. There will be a description of the delivery telepsychiatry services to patients in outpatient psychiatry clinics, nursing homes, inpatient psychiatric facilities and emergency room as well as home visits. Populations included in the various models will include veterans as well as minority populations and strategies for delivering culturally sensative approaches will be discussed.
