EDITORIAL

Current Ophthalmology Is Now Current Ophthalmology and Medicine

With this issue, the Survey section “Current Ophthalmology” will be expanded to include “Current Ophthalmology and Medicine,” and Dr. Paul J. Lama will join Dr. William Good as coeditor of the revised section of the journal. Dr. Lama has a background in internal medicine as well as ophthalmology, which makes him an appropriate editor for this section. In the past, the articles that were selected for Current Ophthalmology focused mainly on topics directly relating to ophthalmology. In the newly expanded section, we will include articles that may be outside of ophthalmology but have relevance for ophthalmologists. Although the articles may be from

outside the ophthalmic literature, the comments from the contributors will attempt to explain how the article pertains to ophthalmologists. We believe that this expanded section will help keep ophthalmologists up to date with the important articles from the general medical literature, and we hope you find it useful.
