Damaging Article I have enjoyed reading your journal for many years. It has been a very valuable journal helping our profession, owners, and our patients. The recent series on anti-shoeing topics concerns me greatly. Opinions concerning when, how, and why to shoe a horse have been expressed in print for a few centuries and until recently I have enjoyed reading the work of others even when I did not find it to be appealing or mechanically stable in my mind. I cannot say that for the recent articles on the unfettered foot. There is no room in any professional journal for derogatory statements, blatant inaccurate claims, and statements implying that anyone who doesn’t agree is negligent. I take a dim view of my name remaining on the editorial list representing consent for any unprofessional, potentially damaging article regardless of the subject or the author. R. F.
