Dear Colleagues
Many of our major education sessions take an innovative, and we believe very practical, approach to oral and maxillofacial surgery this year. They incorporate both clinical and practice management considerations to provide a realistic and comprehensive view of specialty practice. We are also excited about the addition of breakout sessions to the symposium on soft tissue grafting (Wednesday, September 17, 8:00am- 12:00 noon) and the full-day symposium on third molar removal (Friday, September 19, 8:00am - 5:00pm). These breakout sessions offer you the chance to expand your educational experience by joining with others to explore a particular aspect of the symposium in-depth. Please note that although you do not need to register to attend the symposia, you must register for the breakout sessions because of limited space availability. The sessions from which you may choose are indicated both within the program and on the registration form. You will find a lot more is new about this year's meeting as well. In addition to the usual extensive selection of surgical clinics and programs designed specifically for professional and allied staff, 501l·h of this year's practice management sessions are original offerings. The everpopular coding workshops have been revamped for 1997, with a contemporary, concentrated approach to CPT and ICD-9 coding and a new presenter. Seattle, Washington, our meeting site, is an ideal family destination. Whatever your interests, you and your family will find a myriad of activities to occupy your free time during the annual meeting. Seattle is consistently voted one of the United States' top travel destinations, and you can absorb its breathtaking mountain, water, and city views from your ideal hotel location at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel and Towers- just blocks from the City Center shopping district, Nordstrom's and the Seattle Art Museum. Once you've seen the city, you may want to consider an outing at the Butchart Gardens in beautiful Victoria, B.C., an Alaskan cruise, a train trip to Banff, or a complimentary tour and wine tasting at Chateau Ste. Michelle- Washington's pioneer producer of classic European wines. We have an exciting week of education and fellowship planned in an idyllic setting. I encourage you to review the following program and register for the courses of your choice right away. I look forward to seeing you in Seattle! Sincerely,
Kent Cohenour, DDS President
