Development of JPR in JCR as a phoenix

I am pleased to announce again that Journal of Prosthodontic Research (JPR) has been listed in the Web of Science Core Collection (Thomson Reuters) since last year, 2014. Information about JPR papers is currently collected from volume 56, number 1, 2012, and JPR will appear in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR; Thomson Reuters) 2015 edition. The 2014 Impact Factor (IF) for JPR is, if available, calculated from the following simple equation. JPR 2014 Impact Factor ðIFÞ ¼ Numerator X=Denominator Y

where Numerator X = the number of times that all items published in the JPR volume 56, 2012 and JPR volume 57, 2013 were cited by indexed publications during 2014; Denominator Y = the total number of citable items published by JPR in 2012 and 2013 Both editorials and letters to the editor are not categorized into citable items in denominator. There are 83 journals listed in the JCR 2014 edition, Dentistry, Oral Surgery & Medicine category. Among them, four journals represent a field of prosthodontics or prosthetic dentistry for the journal title (Table 1). JPR will be added to the JCR 2015 edition as the fifth prosthodontic journal. It is important for further development of JPR that the prosthodontic researchers and prosthodontists continue to submit high-quality outstanding manuscripts to the journal. The Japan Prosthodontic Society and JPR editorial staffs will make efforts for maintaining JPR as one of the most outstanding journals in dentistry. Also, JPR welcomes submission of articles from all over the world at any time. The predecessors of JPR are of course The Journal of Japan Prosthodontic Society as well as Prosthodontic Research & Practice. They were reborn twice in 2009 and 2015 as the JPR phoenix. On behalf of members of the Japan Prosthodontic Society, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the actual founder of JPR, professor Hiroshi Shiga (Nippon Dental University), successive editors, professors Atsuro Yokoyama (Hokkaido University), Takuo Kuboki (Okayama University), Kazuyoshi Baba (Showa University), and all of the JPR editorial staffs, for their continuous contribution to the development of JPR.
