Engineering Information Abstracts (Part II) paper, for supporting the knowledge acquisition to learners studying basic LOTOS, we suggest a new algorithm that can verify an equivalence relation, find an error location, and correct an error when the error is occurred at another process. Finally, we give an example of a prototype program for an educational support system of Basic LOTOS. ŽAuthor abstract. 7 Refs. The need to reduce space operations costs, the expected availability of distributed communications architectures within space vehicles, and the design of increasingly complex space constellations have generated civil and military requirements to provide functions such as end-to-end networking, data protection, reliable delivery and file handling. Under a joint technical effort by the U. S. Department of Defense ŽDoD. and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration ŽNASA., space data communications protocols are being developed to provide these functions. The capabilities needed to be provided in these protocols are very much influenced by space communications constraints in areas such as computing resources, data rates, contact time, delay and transmission errors. These new space protocols have been submitted to both the U.S. government and the Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems ŽCCSDS. for approval as standards. The commercial space, military tactical, and wireless personal communications communities, which have system and environment constraints similar to those encountered in space data communications, may also benefit from the technology of these space protocols. The characteristics of this new production control system are as follows. 1. The realization of full production control from manufacturing request to product shipping, administration of logistics, administration of records. 2. The introduction of open systems based on EWS and PC platforms considering future ‘end user computing’. Some new functions are also incorporated in this system. One is a production planning simulation system which applies the technique of mathematical programming and the other one is a raw materials combination system. This total system has been operating normally since November 1995. ŽAuthor abstract . 1 Refs. This new system has been developed based on open system technology, and reduces the size of the mainframe computer. Several functions of this system have been enhanced to improve the customer satisfaction; the traceability of pipe quality, the quick delivery of pipe information, and so on. This report introduces the new system, VENUS Ž equals Valuable Engineering New UOE System.. ŽAuthor abstract . 2 Refs.
