Session Title: Intravascular Diagnostics Abstract Category: 16. PCI - DES (clinical/outcomes) Presentation Number: 2527-547 Authors: Daisuke Nakamura, Masami Nishino, Naotaka Okamoto, Akihiro Tanaka, Atsushi Kikuchi, Takeshi Masaki, Naoki Mori, Takahiro Yoshimura, Yasuharu Lee, Masayuki Taniike, Nobuhiko Makino, Hiroyasu KATO, yasuyuki egami, Ryu Shutta, Jun Tanouchi, Yoshio Yamada, Osaka Rosai Hospital, Osaka, Japan Background: It has been reported that optical coherence tomography (OCT) revealed neointimal conditons of sirolimus-eluting stents (SES) , paclitaxel-eluting stents (PES), zotarolimus-eluting stents (ZES) and Everolimus-eluting stents (EES) at 6-8 months after stent implantation. However, the long-term detailed changes are unclear. Methods: In 54 drug-eluting stents (43 patients) : 20 SES (14 patients), 13 PES (12 patients), 12 ZES (10 patients) and 9 EES (7 patients) ,OCT was used to visualize 2486, 1361, 1448 and 921 stent-struts at 8 months after stent implantation (8-month follow-up) and 2199, 1309, 1373 and 824 stent-struts at 20-month follow-up, . The OCT parameters, including incidence of uncovered struts, malapposed struts, averaged neiointimal hyperplasia thickness (NIH thickness) and NIH% which was defined as NIH area / stent area, were also compared between 8-month and 20-month follow-up for SES, PES, ZES and EES respectively. Results: Serial OCT study showed that the incidences of uncovered struts significantly decreased in SES and EES and similar trend in ZES, while they did not change in PES. the incidences of malapposed struts decreased in SES and PES but they did not change in ZES and EES.In addition, average NIH and NIH% significantly increased in SES and EES, on the contrary they significantly decreased in PES, and did not change in ZES from 8 months to 20 months (A table). Conclusions: Serial changes of neointimal conditions after SES, PES, ZES and EES implantation show different patterns.
