The largest movements were associated with blocky rock bounded by shear zones ar~ continuous Joints amd occurred when the vertical side walls had i~adequate support. Construction procedures, particularly supplemental rockbolt support, are reviewed and total rock displacements given. Criteria fc~ detecting potentially unstable conditions were developed.
