GRAND ROUNDS

intended to provide the surgeon with the most current information. Experts in each area are invited to give the faculty presentation, which may focus on the most recent advances in a particular area of cardiothoracic surgery, provide an overview of current standards of practice, or give a historical review. Upcoming lecturers include Drs Richard Heitmiller, Lawrence Cohn, Hendrick Earner, Tirone David, Alexander Geha, and Alain Carpentier on their respective clinical areas of expertise. The goal of CTSNet Grand Rounds is to bring the knowledge and experience of recognized leaders in the

field to cardiothoracic surgeons around the globe. Residents and faculty alike can view and hear the lectures on demand from any computer with Web access, bringing Grand Rounds to an international platform for the f i s t time. No longer must one wait for a visiting professorship or society meeting to hear these experts speak. One can learn the essential operative techniques and refer to the transcript for specificpoints about the particular topic. As the CTSNet Grand Rounds archive grows, these lectures will provide a valuable resource for the continuing education of cardiothoracic surgeons.
