Kolene Corp. has developed a variation of the Nu-Tride ferritic nitrocarburizing process t h a t allows m a n u f a c t u r e s to give parts a smooth, black, polished appearance with corrosion resistance superior to both h ar d chrome and e l e c t ro les s nickel. T he Kolene QPQ Process is used to finish parts ranging from hydraulic and pneumatic components and automotive gears, to builder's hardw a r e and outdoor r e c r e a t i o n a l equipment. The process follows Nu-Tride processing. It involves mechanically polishing and reoxidizing parts after they leave the Nu-Tride bath. The QPQ process f u r t h e r enhances corrosion resistance while providing a lustrous black, low RMS t~Lnish.
Pfeiffer has introduced the PACLine series of single-stage, oilt i ght r o t a r y v a n e p u m p s with pumping speeds from 6 to 630 m3/h. These pumps provide an effective solution for m a n y applications w here air or i n e r t gases have to be pumped off at pressures between 1,000 and 1 mbar. I n d u s t r i a l applications include vacuum coating, vacuum transport, degassing molten metals, heat t r e a t m e n t metallurgy, and vacuum packaging in the food ind u s t r y . F e a t u r e s include integrated oil mist separators, oil ret u r n units, and safety valves to prevent oil from polluting the surrounding air and for pump and system protection. It is also available with a pyramid-style head to fit 2-in. square tubing. DO Series caps are constructed of lowdensity polyethylene and are available in standard black.
