Approximately US$35 million will be invested in the plant, which is located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The expansion includes third generation membrane line technology and fourth generation automated fabrication technology. The company also plans to increase the
manufacturing workforce by up to a third over the course of this year. Filmtec membrane modules are precision and machine fabricated, which says Dow makes them faster and more efficient to produce than other traditionally manufactured membrane modules. In addition, the
membrane surface area for treating water inside the Filmtec module is claimed to be significantly larger than other membrane modules. Contact:The Dow Chemical Co, Larkin Lab, 1691 N Swede, Midland, MI 48674, USA. Tel: +517 363 9086.
