EDITOR'S FOREWORD Over the last decade extensive scientific research has been devoted to neoplastic and blood diseases. The advances have been so rapid and of such magnitude that it is difficult for physicians and scientists alike to be fully aware of "state-of-the-art" knowledge or totally comprehend the subtleties inherent in these medical disciplines. To this end, the Editor and Advisory Board members have attempted to compile manuscripts by expert contributing authors which summarize evolving concepts within the broad disciplines of oncology and hematology. Subject matter pertaining to etiology, epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment, pathophysiology, immunology, and cell biology will be discussed in a timely, critical, and analytical manner. We are extremely grateful to all our authors and reviewers whose tolerance of our editorial nuances were, and are, short of Jobian in nature. We are also grateful to the expert editorial staff of CRC Press for coordinating the complexities of publishing this Journal.
