Satchler, G. R., Analysis of the scattering of 28 MeV alpha particles, Nuclear Physics 70 (1965) 177. In table 2, the value of f12 for 2°Ne should read 0.42, and that for 2sSi should be 0.29. The theoretical curve and experimental points for 28Si in fig. 10 should be reduced by a factor 0.65. The author is indebted to Dr. J. Kokame for pointing out these errors.

The correct values are obtained by multiplying such entries in table 5 by the factor ~. This affects the discussion in 4.8 so that the value l'r~l(½ ½ ~ ~z~) ~ 54 eV is in better agreement with experiment. Slight numerical errors are also present in the values for A = 9 in table 5.
