Announcement Eighth International Workshop on Human Gene Mapping Helsinki, Finland, August 4-10, 1985 The main goal of this workshop is to exchange and critically review human gene mapping data. The end product of the workshop is an up-to-date Human Gene Map, which is prepared primarily by committees of experts in the appropriate areas. For information regarding the areas covered, please refer to the report of the previous workshop held in August 1983 (Human Gene Mapping 7, Cytogenetics and Cell Genetics, Vol. 37, 1984). The committees consider two sets of data: (1) data published since the previous workshop and (2) new data presented as posters at this workshop. Scientists are invited to apply to attend the workshop by sending poster abstracts. The nature of the workshop as a committee-based working event precludes unlimited attendance. Consequently, the poster abstracts will be critically reviewed and only those of high scientific relevance will be accepted.
The timetable is: • Deadline for receipt of abstracts March 15, 1985 • Notification of acceptance sent to applicants May 15, 1985
For abstract forms and further information, please write to Prof. Albert de la Chapelle, University of Helsinki, Department of Medical Genetics, Haartmaninkatu 3, 00290 Helsinki, Finland.
