Newbury, Ohio Kinetic0 Engineered Systems Inc. announces its new IonWinner, the first integrated system combining ion exchange and electrowinning for metal recovery, waste minimization, and environmental compliance. The IonWinner is designed to boost plate-out efficiency, provide faster batch time, and recover copper, tin-lead, precious metals, and a variety of other metals. The system will reduce levels of hazardous metals in concentrated wastes to meet stringent discharge limits for printed circuit board and metal-finishing processes. This versatile design eliminates the need to invest in two systems, thus saving money and minimizing floor space required for installation. The electrowinning process reclaims metal from ion exchange regenerations and spent chemistries, thereby reducing hazardous sludge and producing scrap metal for resale or nonhazardous disposal. RFE’s Silverado is a system for recovering silver metal from cyanide-based solutions and drag-outs. The Silverado offers corrosion-resistant construction, exceptionally high cathode efficiency, fast plateout rates, optional forced-entry alarm mechanism, and modular design. It is easy to use and is available in medium- and highvolume capacities. The unit greatly reduces the cost of refining because it is significantly cheaper to refine silver in metallic form than as a hazardous solution. It is a selfcontained, submersible, electrolytic unit consisting of a pump, collector canister, and power supply.
Eco-Tee’s Recowin electrowinning systems are based on an advanced cell design developed by a major copper refiner. Incorporated features include high-efficiency bubble-curtain air agitation that ensures effective operation at low metal concentrations and an analyzer that interfaces with the rectifier to continuously adjust and optimize rectifier current density for any metal concentration. In addition, a new electrowinning design has been recently introduced that allows for the plate-out of copper from nitric acid solutionsideal for large printed circuit board rack stripping baths or copper/brass pickling operations.
