Preface

Environment International welcomes new Associate Editors

As Editors-in Chief, we are delighted to welcome you to Environmental International, an international, multidisciplinary Journal with a specific focus on the impacts of human activities and environment on human health, by using trans- and interdisciplinary research approaches. It serves as a platform for academics, practitioners, regulators, and policy makers to share and discuss insights into how our human activities and the environment shapes and impacts human health now and in the future. In doing so, it also brings forward opportunities to minimize health risk and maximize resilience. In the past 10 years, we have grown and strengthened our global position and continue to do so with the support of several new Associate Editors. We are delighted to welcome them to the team. Lesa Aylward, Duk Hee Lee, and Heather Stapleton represent a powerful group of new Associate Editors strengthening our exposure, toxicology and epidemiology portfolio. Paul Whaley is the new Associate Editor for Systematic Reviews helping Environment International to become the leading publisher of systematic reviews and papers on research synthesis methods in the field of environmental health. As we grow, we would specifically like to encourage submission of papers in the following subject areas: • The prediction and impact of air quality (outdoor and indoor) on human health • The use of systematic review methods for environmental and human health risk assessment • The modelling and impact of chemicals of emerging concern on human exposure

• Health implications and impacts of climate change with specific reference to sustainable development • Women and children as specific and vulnerable sub-populations On the Elsevier website of Environment International, you can find our new Aims and Scope (http://www.journals.elsevier.com/ environment-international). These should guide the authors and help them in taking a proper decision regarding the suitability of their manuscript in Environment International. Manuscripts with a solution-oriented approach to sustainability are encouraged to submit work to our “spin-off” publication Environmental Technology & Innovation which combines excellent natural sciences understanding to underpin the development and application of technologies, to understand and deliver a sustainable future. We are looking forward to receiving your ideas for research manuscripts, reviews, perspectives, correspondence and commentaries. Ruth E. Alcock Lancaster University Corresponding author.
