EPPM-1, 24—27th March 2008, Dubrovnik We have pleasure in publishing in this issue of the journal the abstracts of presentations of the first conference of the European Platform for Photodynamic Medicine (EPPM-1). The EPPM is already affiliated with PDPDT and we look forward to a long and happy relationship. Inclusion of the abstracts in this issue has been challenging and represents considerable effort on the part of Professor Hrvoje Zorc, Chairman of the Organising Committee, who has taken on the task of co-editing the abstracts. It also has meant concerted teamwork by the Editorial Office and Production Department of the Publishers, Elsevier.
