The molar fractions of the Fe2 +, Mg and AlVI components in the muscovite solid solution are actually defined mus mus mus as XFe = Fe2 +/(Fe2 + + Mg + AlVI), XMg = Mg/(Fe2 + + Mg + AlVI), and XA1 = AlVI/(Fe2 + + Mg + AlVI), respectively. The symbol ‘‘ + ’’ is missing in the original article, Section 2.2. However, this does not have any effect on the calibration. A similar mistake is made for the ferric iron content in muscovite, Section 3, 7th paragraph. This must be Fe3+/ (Fe2++Fe3+).
