The Merck Manual Professional app provides health care providers with information about thousands of medical conditions including pathophysiology, etiology, evaluation, and treatment options. There are numerous “howto-do” instructional videos for examinations and procedures. Additional helpful features include current drug information, interactive case studies, medical news, editorials, and quizzes. Favorites can be identified for easy repeat access. No registration or subscription is required and there are no ads. No user data are collected.

The app is easy to navigate. The homepage contains icons for medical topics, videos, clinical calculators, resources, and news and commentary. From there one can easily locate specific topics or information. Once the app has been downloaded and installed (this does take several minutes with a Wi-Fi connection), an internet connection is not needed to access the core information. Useful emergency first-aid information for various injuries and life-threatening conditions is accessible. Illustrations and photos of diseases and disorders are available. Similar to Merck Manual Professional, additional features include news and commentary, editorials, quizzes, and drug information.
