COMPANY NEWS The Ciba-Geigy Corporation has commenced a large scale expansion of its quinacridone pigments production at its Delaware plant. Ciba-Geigy acquired the quinacridane pigments business from Du Pant & Co. some twelve years ago.

Dow Chemical has expanded its capability to service the European market with polystyrene and ABS compounds. A new plant in the Netherlands includes in-colouring and compounding facilities and is specifically designed to meet the needs of customers engaged in the electronics, automotive and other technically demanding industries. .An ultra fine titanium dioxide-based titanium black powder with a high degree of blackness has been developed and produced as a joint effort in Japan by Shiseido Co. Ltd. and Mitsubishi Metal The key features of this powder are chemical inertCorporation. ness that precludes flocculation, good adhesion and spreading for cosmetics, etc., good resistance to heat, solvents and also weathering. The tinting strength is said to be five times that of black iron oxide.
