Seroepidemiology of H T L V - I I I antibody in Danish homosexual men: Prevalence, transmission, and disease outcome M e l b y e M , Biggar RJ, Ebbesen P, et al: Br Med J 2 8 9 : 5 7 3 - 5 7 5 , 1984. As part of a prospective study of the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), 250 Danish homosexual men had sera drawn in December 1981. HTLV-III antibody was present in twenty-two (8.8%) of the men, two of whom developed AIDS and two of whom developed AIDS-related complex by February 1983. Seropositivity was most strongly associated with sexual exposure to men in the United States and increased frequency of anal-receptive intercourse. Two m e n who developed AIDS in Denmark in 1981 were also seropositive.

Treatment of Raynaud's phenomenon with ketanserin in patients with connective tissue disorders R o a l d O K , Seem E: Br Med J 289:577-579, 1984 In a double-blind crossover study of ten female patients aged 21 to 56 years with Raynaud's phenomenon, eight ira-
proved clinically on 20 to 40 mg ketanserin three times daily and none improved on placebo. This study suggests that the oralty administered serotonin receptor blocker ketansefin may be an effective and well-tolerated treatment for Raynaud's phenomenon associated with connective tissue disorders, especially scleroderma.

Degos' disease: Association with anticardiolipin antibodies and the lupus anticoagulant Englert HJ, Hawkes CH, Boey ML, et al: Br Med J 289:576, 1984 A 36-year-old woman with multiple cerebral thromboses and skin lesions characteristic of Degos' disease was found to have high titers of anticardiolipin antibodies and showed lupus anticoagulant activity in her serum. Both of these serum factors are strongly associated with a tendency to thrombosis.
