Faggiolati Pumps builds for the future Faggiolati Pumps SpA, the specialist manufacturer of all-metal electric submersible pumps, mixers and aeration systems, has recently built a new factory with advanced technical and testing facilities at its Macerata site. Faggiolati Pumps SpA came into being in 1995 from the division of Faggiolati Giovanni, a sole proprietorship founded in 1979. The group also includes Elettromeccanica Faggiolati Srl. Since 1984 the company has specialized in the design and construction of submersible electric pumps and aeration and mixing systems. The company – certified to ISO 9001:2000 – is active on both domestic and international markets, in industry, ship construction, the public sector and plant-building. It operates directly through its central sales office and through agencies and distributors, offering specific consultancy. There is also the Authorized Workshop service and the company can supply original spare parts (within 24 hours from order).
Areas of operation To deal with various types of submersible pumps, in countless versions, the hydraulic systems on offer are drainage, grinder, single channel, with channels, with propeller and high-performance vortex. These are suitable for the following applications: • Drainage of abrasive liquids • Industrial and civil wastewater treatment • Fitting out water treatment plants (water and sludge line) • Handling sea water • Handling aggressive liquids. The company can also supply submersible mixers (with propellers made in microfusion AISI 316 in a single piece), aeration and remote control systems, electronic measuring instruments and accessories for pumping plants, as well as specifically commissioned pumps.

Technology and plans Faggiolati electric pumps use metal production technology – strictly Italian and certified – that varies from lamellar graphite grey cast iron to austenitized steel, AISI 316, Duplex, Hastelloy Alloy, as well as Bronze B10 and alloys (bronze, aluminium). The products are subjected to numerous tests: dimension check, electrical rigidity test, water seal test in tank and performance check in accordance with the ISO norm.

The technical department can also supply test certificates for 60 Hz electric pumps (to meet the requirements of some foreign markets). Products with power up to 6 kW are also available in an antiexplosion version. All ATEX motors are designed with special devices that permit their use in potentially explosive settings. The philosophy of Faggiolati Pumps, as regards the principles of quality, is the total satisfaction of the customer, in particular guaranteeing the reliable functioning and preserving the value of every product through the provision of services and a full range of original spares. The company has also increased its production space. The new factory has been built with particularly heavy investment in the technical department. This includes an ultramodern automatic painting plant with a six-axle robot, a balancing machine with electronic and vibration control, a threedimensional metrological room, a CAD/CAM work centre for model construction and an avant-garde prototype machine.

Meanwhile, the building work has been completed, including the construction of a testing tank, 22 metres long, 8 metres deep and 6 metres wide, completely in reinforced concrete. This tank has led to the creation of agreements with some Italian universities for training internships for graduation theses in mechanical and hydraulic engineering.
