As in previous SMiRT Conferences, SMiRT 13 will cover aspects of engineering mechanics pertaining to mechanical and structural components and systems in nuclear power generation. Consequently, problems in structural mechanics will be addressed both in connection to their theoretical and experimental basis as well as within the context of analysis, design and reliability assessment of nuclear power plants. Proposed subject areas are: • • • • • • • • •
inelastic behavior of solids structural reliability and safety structural problems of fusion waste repository fluid-induced vibrations
The following deadines should be observed: 31 July 1994, last date for submitting abstracts; 30 November 1994, notification of paper acceptance; 28 February 1995, last date for the receipt of accepted papers.
