News and notes The Cleft Palate Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting patients with craniofacial birth defects and their families, is sponsorin~ CLEFTLINE, a toll-free information service. The Cleft Palate Foundation refers individuals to teams of professionals in their area who are skilled in the manageme m of cleft lip, cleft palate, and other, more complex craniofacial anomalies. Referral is also made to patient-parent support groups. Pediatricians may call CLEFTLINE, at 1-800-24CLEFT, to obtain information that will assist them in advising

their patients' families regarding the neonate with a cleft or other craniofacial anomaly. The Alliance of Genetic Support Groups announces the revised and expanded Directory of Genetic Voluntary Organizations and Related Resources. The Directory will be available in January 1995. The Directory is a listing of support groups representing specific genetic conditions and organizations that hav e a broader representation. Sections on disease registries, research foundations, information offices of federal agenciesl and genetic networks , as we!1as support groups, are included.
