Advanced Flow Management demonstration video debut
The MRI video demonstrates how MRI’s Inclined Plate Settlers and Hoseless Cable-Vac Sludge Collectors use technological advancements to treat more water in less space.
Engineering and manufacturing company, Meurer Research, Inc., has recently released its new demonstration video entitled: Treating more water in less space. The animated video shows how MRI’s Advanced Flow Management works to produce the cleanest water possible in a small footprint. Specializing in advanced water and wastewater equipment installations,
Meurer uses animated illustrations and high-definition photography and videography to provide a detailed explanation of the process and benefits of the advancements in MRI’s Inclined Plate Settler System. The video demonstrates how MRI utilizes its Advanced Flow Management to organize flow throughout the entire basin, from entry to exit. Detailed descriptions are given on the Flow Control Deck, which provides even-distribution across the entirety of each plate, and the Hoseless Cable-Vac Sludge Collector, which is designed to remove settled solids without disrupting the settling zone. Launch of on-site nitrogen and oxygen generators regenerate to remove either N2 or O2 depending on requirements. This allows users to generate nitrogen at the purity required for the application, such as 95% or 98%.
Hi-line Industries’ new N2 and O2 high purity, low energy nitrogen and oxygen generators.
Supplier to the compressed air industry, Hi-line Industries, has recently announced its new line of N2 and O2 high purity, low energy nitrogen and oxygen generators. The generators feature a range of advanced functions, including O2 analyzers and energy control as standard. The technology employed at Hi-line for N2/O2 generation is based on simple PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) procedures. Twin-tower carbon molecular sieve (CMS) beds absorb and www.filtsep.com
Among the areas where the uptake of Hi-line’s N2/O2 generators has been particularly high is MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging), a technique used for prolonging the shelf life of fresh or minimallyprocessed foods such as meat, fish, cheese, fruits and vegetables. Although Hi-line offers a standard range of generators for N2/O2 each generator is customised in line with user requirements. Before a generator is manufactured, Hi-line will have already carried out a free site survey of N2/O2 usage, and at what rate/purity. The team will also assess energy costs versus the current cost of gas and present a proposal indicating the potential savings available. www.hilineindustries.com
Fibreglass reinforced cartridge filter housing for RO water treatment Canadian company, H2O Innovation Inc., has launched a new fiberglass reinforced polyester cartridge filter housing product line under its Piedmont brand. Piedmont’s cartridge filter housings are designed to be used in both new and existing water treatment plants. This new product line includes several vertical and horizontal filter styles which have an operator focused feature set, so the cartridge filter housings require less space in a water treatment plant compared to conventional filters. Cartridge replacement is quick and easy because of several design features such as high-speed assembly nuts. These features translate into CAPEX savings and significant OPEX reduction for water utilities. Piedmont’s cartridge filter housings are used regularly in front of nanofiltration (NF) and reverse osmosis (RO) water treatment systems as well as CIP (Clean
In Place) systems. These filter housings are also designed for temperatures up to 90°C (194°F) and pressures up to 10 bar (150 psi). Made from FRP, the cartridge filter housings are a reliable pretreatment protection for reverse osmosis systems that treat brackish and sea water. www.h2oinnovation.com.

Food-safe biological waste water treatment keeps drains clean
NCH Europe has launched FreeFlow Liquid, a biological waste water treatment solution.
Water, energy and maintenance provider, NCH Europe, has launched FreeFlow Liquid, a biological waste water treatment solution designed to keep drains and grease traps clean. The company says the product offers a green alternative to caustics and acids, digesting organic matter without harming the environment or the piping system.
FreeFlow Liquid consists of ten strains of aerobic and facultative bacteria that are able to digest organic matter, such as fats, oils and grease (FOG). The bacteria are able to work effectively across the wide range of pH, temperature and low-oxygen conditions that are common in drain lines and grease traps. The particular strains of bacteria used in the product are foodsafe and the product is NSF L2 approved, making it suitable for use in food processing applications. It can also combat the foul odours associated with FOG build-up, as the FreeFlow bacteria outcompetes sulphur-reducing bacteria and prevents H2S gas from forming. www.ncheurope.com
