awarded Canadian membrane company H,O Innovation’s municipal division has won three contracts - two nanofiltration (NF) testing programmes and a water treatment agreement. The company’s NF technology will be tested for use in treating the coloured surface waters of the Erables reservoir, city of Quebec. This follows a recent testing programme at Lac des Roches, Charlesbourg, which finished in January this year. Treatability tests are being carried out on both water sources in order to determine the optimal treatment. Data will be collected over an eight week period. Under the second testing programme, H,O will verify the effectiveness of using NF technology to produce potable water for the municipality of Saint-Eugene d’Argentenap Its NF technology has to demonstrate the effective removal of microorganic pathogens, turbidity, trihalomethane precursors and colour from water sourced from Lac Crystal. The third contract is the installation of a treatment system to improve the quality of water used by the First Nations community of Kitcisakik, by reducing iron, manganese and bacteria from water.
