Liquid/Liquid Coalescer Pall Corp. Port Washington, Wash.
Automated Filtration Aprochim USA Inc. Bridgewa ter, N.J.
Pall Corp.‘s Phase Sep Liquid/Liquid Coalescer was developed to efficiently separate liquid/liquid dispersions and remove liquid contamination. The high-performance stack design of the PhaseSep liquid/liquid coalescer allows an even flow distribution, which in turn, permits a high flow rate. Fewer coalescer cartridges are required to efficiently separate the liquids, resulting in a small economic assembly. The long life of the filter cartridges results in fewer cartridge changeouts, which reduces maintenance and changeout costs as well as cartridge disposal costs.
Aprochim’s Indexmatic filtration systems use advanced automation and media technology to remove suspended solids from plating solutions, which improves product quality, reduces solution maintenance, lessens waste disposal obligations and handling costs, and increases production capacity. The system, which uses state-of-the art microprocessor-based controls and proprietary nonwoven rolled media, maintains consistent bath quality and is designed for the highly varied and corrosive environments typically found in plating operations.

Filter Cartridges W-L. Gore & Associates Inc. Ekfon, Md. Filter Presses for Sludge Dewatering Avery Filter Co. Inc. Westwood, N.J.
Gore Perma-Clean filter cartridges are constructed of Gore-Tex expanded PTFE membrane combined with a pleated nonwoven backing, providing the benefits of surface filtration in a light-weight construction. The patented filter design utilizes unrestrained pleats, which flex during cleaning and actually open to release the dust cake with minimal pulse energy. The cartridges are nonlinting and have filtration efficiency greater than 99.99%.
Existing filter presses can be retrofitted with a new polypropylene chamber or membrane plates. These improve filtration, producing shorter cycles and cake solids up to 65%. Refurbishing a filter can save up to 50% of the cost of a new filter.
