STABIL~SERS FOR PVC
Chemische Werke has published a booklet listing special plasticisers for PVC film and plastisols. Methods of application are given.
FIRE RETARDANT POLYURETHANE FOAMS
A technical bulletin from BASF Corporation describes PLURACOL polyol C-133, which is specially formulated to produce highresilient foams that meet furniture flammability requirements. Typical properties are listed for the polyol and for flexible foams containing fire retardants.
MASTERFLAM FIRE RETARDANTS
A selection chart is available from KMZ Chemicals Ltd. in the U-K, which gives selection data relating to the use of MASTERFLAM fire retardants in specified polymer systems. The types and concentrations used with various thermoplastics are tabulated.
SWEDSTAB STABILISERS
Data sheets are also available from KMZ Chemicals Ltd. which give examples of applications for the stabilisers in plasticised and rigid PVC. Calcium-zinc systems are available which overcome plate-out problems which usually occur with this type of The SWEDSTAB BTMS series are of the di-nstabiliser system. butyl tin type, and are only recommended for use in 'non-food* applications. They are highly effective in S-PVC, E-PVC, PVDC, or EVA copolymers as well as mixtures of these polymers.
ADVANCED THERMOPLASTICS COMPOSITES
Phillips Petroleum Company has issued a brochure entitled "Advanced Thermoplastics Composites" which gives comprehensive details of the properties, processing methods and applications of the thermoplastics composites, either long glass fibre or long carbon fibre reinforced RYTON PPS offered by the Advanced Composites Division of this company.
