First quarter results of Sloan Technology Gerard Cl Decker, president of Sloan Technology Corp (NASDAQ-SLON), told stockholders attending the Company’s annual meeting that earnings for the first quarter of the 1975 fiscal year declined as compared to the record financial results reported in the like period a year ago. For the 3 months ended 30 September 1974, net income was $21,700 or 3 cents a share, as compared to $37,100, or 4 cents a share in the first quarter last year. Revenues for the 3 months were $1,000,800 vs $793,700 last year. ‘Even though the markets for Sloan remain strong’, Decker stated, ‘our profitability has been hurt by current economic conditions, which include unprecedented prices paid for outside components and services. However,’ he continued, ‘as reported in our 1974 Annual Report to Shareholders, we have altered our pricing policy and, as a result, we expect profitability to improve through the next quarter.’ Decker also reported that new products introduced at recent trade shows were being well received. ‘The Company’s regular participation in trade shows throughout the country has proven to be very beneficial for introducing new products and broadening our market penetration,’ he said. Two more sizes in electric motor range Newman Electric Motors Ltd, have announced the availability of two further frame sizes in their ‘Minimetric’ range of small industrial motors. Though the D80 frame size has been available for some time, introduction of the smaller D71 and D63 sizes was delayed for various reasons. With a few exceptions in the slower speed range and certain mounting configurations, these two frames are now available on immediate or short-term delivery. The complete range now spans three-phase motors from 0.06 kW (0.08 hp) at 1000 rev/min to 1 .I kW (1.5 hp) at 3000 rev/min and single-phase from 0.06 kW (0.08 hp) at 1000 rev/min to 0.75 kW (1 .O hp) at 3000 rev/min with the customary speed and rating options in between, and various mounting choices. The manufacturers claim the Newman Minimetric is a completely re-designed motor in a die-cast alloy frame, the objective of which is to provide an industrial motor capable of high-volume production at low unit-cost, yet offering flexibility of specification and of application approaching that of custom-made units. Free wall chart from Edwards A new wall chart (Publication 07850) which gives an at-a-glance comparison of the pressure ranges and basic characteristics of the Edwards range of vacuum gauges and gauge heads, has been published by Edwards High Vacuum.
Data Sheets 65 and 66 cover standard cycle general purpose machines Types CVE 63B (3 kW output at 60 kV) and CVE 66B (6 kW output at 60 kV) respectively. Data Sheet 67 relates to Electron Beam Welder Type CVE 63BH. a fast cycle equipment with a maximum power output of 3 kW at 60 kV.
The wall chart which measures approximately 23 x 16 in. (A2 size), gives brief details of the 21 products necessary to cover the pressure range from atmosphere to 1 O-lo torr, and is designed to make selection of the correct instrument as easy as possible.
