Through the combined initiative of the Servicio Geologico de Obras Publicas, the Instituto Nacional de Colonizacion and the Centro de Estudios, Investigacion y Aplicaciones del Agua, a Seminar on Modern Techniques in Well-construction was held in Barcelona in May, 1968, at which 17 Papers were presented by specialists, both Spanish and foreign. The papers as a whole were planned to cover the more important aspects of modern techniques in well-construction, with a view to the development of underground waters. The Seminar was attended by 135 experts, belonging to official organizations or private companies, and was followed by a series of practical demonstrations carried out with the most modern drilling equipment.
