Five-year warranty HMD Sealless Pumps has announced that their Magmax total containment pump, intended for use in the petrochemical, pharmaceutical and chemical industries, is now delivered with a full five-year warranty. According to the manufacturers, this is the first time that a global pump maker has offered a full warranty for this length of time on any single pump unit. The Magmax pump has a drive that combines the total containment of a canned motor
pump with the simplicity of a magnetic drive, claim the manufacturers. The Direct-onLine (DOL) synchronous motor can achieve speeds of 3000 rpm (50 Hz) or 3600 rpm (60 Hz) delivering a claimed efficient operation and reduced power costs. Comprehensive containment protection should be guaranteed by the in-built motor thermistors, power control monitors and vapor detector. End users can test the veracity of these claims for themselves, and the details in regard to the warranty, by contacting the company directly.
Sterile dispensing pump head The peristaltic Flexicon pump head has been designed to provide accurate dosing to ±0.5% in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries on cleaning validation duties. According to the manufacturers, a single pump head can dispense a sample liquid for validation purposes in increments from 0.1 ml up to 250 ml, dependant upon the end user specified diameter of the peristaltic tubing. All the available tubing is made from medical grade silicone for application in the biopharmaceutical sector.
For each end user production run, a new sterile disposable tubing path is utilised. This disposability means that only the tubing and the filling needle come into contact with the product, enabling them to be easily thrown away and replaced for each new batch run. The pump head remains isolated and sterile for future use.
Integrated valve information system The new Tuchenhagen T.VIS® V7 Valve Information System is a control module designed for use with valves installed on pump and process systems. The device has a diagnostic function and its in-built electronics offer real-time information about the valve status to ensure reliability and optimum performance.
procedures. The claimed ‘plug and play’ functionality can now be tested by end users as the product is rolled out to the global market place. Tuchenhagen is part of GEA’s Process Equipment Division.
The device is fitted in the control head of the specified valve. It can be retrofitted into almost all of Tuchenhagen’s valves or supplied as new with any new orders. The feedback diagnostic function is achieved via a data bus communication network. According to the manufacturers, the modular design gives the system its retrofit flexibility and should also ensure simple installation and commissioning
Aimed at the process industries, the T.VIS® V7 Valve Information System from Germany’s Tuchenhagen can control valves installed on pump and process systems and provide diagnostic feedback.
The disposable nature of the system eliminates the potential for cross contamination and protects the integrity of the product claim the manufacturers. Product changeovers take approximately 5 minutes assert the manufacturers.
