Foot and Ankle Surgery – Now indexed in Science Citation Index Expanded and the Journal Citation Reports

I am delighted to let you know that Foot and Ankle Surgery will receive its first Impact Factor in 2016: Thomson Reuters have accepted the Journal, meaning it will be indexed and abstracted in the Science Citation Index Expanded (also known as SciSearch) as well as in the Journal Citation Reports. Coverage starts from Volume 19, Issue 1, 2013, so our first Impact Factor will reflect citations received in 2015 to the articles published in 2013 and 2014 divided by the total number of articles published in 2013 and 2014. Receiving an Impact Factor will bring FAS even further onto the world stage of scientific publication, helping readers to measure the research influence and impact of the Journal. Every journal selected by Thomson Reuters has met the very high standards of the evaluation process. Such a successful application would not have been possible without the extensive support given by our team in Elsevier led by our Senior Publisher, Tanya Wheatley. Of even more importance is all the diligent work done over the years by the reviewers, who have ensured that only the best quality submissions

are published in the Journal. The work done by the reviewers is very much appreciated and sincere thanks is now given to them. When a journal receives an Impact Factor it will attract more research and there will be even more papers to review! So in preparation for this I would like to encourage those that read the Journal and are interested in getting involved in reviewing to contact me with a copy of their curriculum vitae (which should be emailed to the Journal’s Editorial Office at [email protected]). In joining our dedicated, but sometimes overworked, team of reviewers, you will be assured access to important and interesting research at a very early stage, and will become part of an incredibly important team, without whom the Journal could not function. The future now looks really great for Foot and Ankle Surgery, and we look forward to receiving our first Impact Factor in 2016.
