The catalog was brought to America by the National Council for U.S.-China Trade, according to a report in Chemical and Engineering News. Presumably, interested firms could import these patent medicines, if they met all relevant federal regulations .... The definition and evaluation of various services performed by the forensic science profession in the criminal justice process is the subject of a research project being conducted by the Forensic Science Foundation. The foundation requests anyone who has, since 1972, given reports or testimony in criminal court or elsewhere in the criminal justice process as an expert witness for either the prosecution or the defense to mail a card or note to the Forensic Science Foundation giving your name, address and area of expertise. The foundation will then mail you a short questionnaire designed to group your type and degree of involvement with other individuals who have similar expertise. This is a federally sponsored research project. The results will not identify any individuals. No form of solicitation will result from participation since all names and addresses and questionnaires will be treated as confidential information. Publication Debuts HOSPITAL PHARMACY TODAY, a new national magazine serving the pharmacist practicing in an institutional setting, began publication with the January 1974 issue. The monthly will have a circulation of 17,500. Its co-publishers are Robert Day anq ElRoy FitzSenry, who also co-publish the western regional pharmacy magazine, West Coast/Rocky Mountain Druggist. Section on Federal Pharmacy Selects Capt. A.R. Petoletti The Section on Federal Pharmacy of the American Pharmaceutical Association has chosen Captain A.R. Petoletti, USN, as chairman-elect. The selection was announced November 23, 1973 by the Section's Board of Canvassers. Others elected by a mail ballot vote of the members were Lieutenant Colonel Jordan D. Johnson Jr., USAF, vice chairman and Captain Lawrence D. Smith, USPHS, secretary. Elected to the executive committee wereCaptain Thomas F. Brady, USA; Douglas G. Christian, Veterans Administration; Major Frederick E. Coleman III, USAF; Captain Clarence L. Fortner, USPHS and Lieutenant Darrell F. Snook, USN. Chairman-elect Petoletti and his fellow officers will be installed during the APhA Annual Meeting in Chicago, August 3-8.
