Leading specialists will discuss the current state of contemporary understanding and practice in obstetric anaesthesia and analgesia. Relevant topics in maternal medicine and fetal monitoring are also covered. Suitable for anaesthetists and obstetricians of all grades from both the UK and overseas. 15 CEPD points.
2003 5–6 June 2003, Cardiff, UK OAA Annual Meeting This yearÕs Annual Meeting will be held at St DavidÕs Hall in the centre of Cardiff, close to the railway station, shops, restaurants, historic attractions and hotels. There will be a wide-ranging programme finishing with the first ÔQuestion Time: OAA style!Õ when a panel of experts, including Joy Hawkins, President of SOAP, will be answering delegatesÕ questions. This year delegates will also have the opportunity to attend workshops on Difficult Airway, Medical Simulation (numbers limited for both) and Computerised Data Collection in the Labour Ward (unlimited). Registration forms may be submitted and accommodation booked on-line. 10 CEPD points. On Thursday 5 June a Reception for all delegates will be held at the National Museum & Gallery which houses a major international collection of British and European art. The elegant Assembly Room at CardiffÕs City Hall will be the venue for the Annual Dinner which follows the Reception. There will be dancing to a live band and an opportunity to take a flutter without tears at the Casino in the splendid Marble Hall. The guestsÕ programme will include a visit to the Museum of Welsh Life at St FaganÕs where houses and buildings representing the history of Wales have been reconstructed, and Castell Coch, a romantic folly built for the Marquis of Bute.
