Franklin Electric Co Inc has bought Brazilian submersible groundwater pumping equipment manufacturer Bombas Leão SA.

Grundfos and Singapore’s national water agency PUB have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to jointly collaborate on the development of water technologies and solutions.

The collaboration will focus on water innovation, including the development and application of highly efficient pump solutions in water treatment, R&D in wastewater treatment solutions and disinfection technologies, and applications for in-pipe energy recovery technologies.

Gorman-Rupp buys Bayou City Pump The Gorman-Rupp Co’s whollyowned subsidiary National Pump Co (NPC) has acquired Houston, Texas-headquartered Bayou City Pump Inc (BCP). Founded in 1973, BCP manufactures and services vertical turbine pumping systems mainly for the inland and coastal marine liquid petroleum and chemical transportation market. BCP also developed and manufactures a specialty sludge pumping system for use in a range of industrial applications. The company, which has a service facility in Baton Rouge, Louisiana,

generated approximately US$16 million in revenue during 2013 from sales of its products and services. Apollo Goessnitz wins German power order HMS Group’s Apollo Goessnitz GmbH has signed a contract with Alstom Power to manufacture and deliver pumping equipment for the Koeln Niel 3 power plant construction project in Cologne, Germany.

French wastewater plant selects Flygt technology Xylem Inc’s Flygt brand submersible pumps and monitoring and control technology will be used to upgrade Europe’s largest wastewater treatment plant located near Paris, France. Xylem will supply the pumps and related accessories to recirculate water and sludge through basins and feed the facility’s biological tanks with wastewater. The Achères Seine Aval wastewater treatment plant treats about 1.5 million cubic metres of wastewater in the Paris region every day. Service Public de L’assainissement

Francilien (SIAAP) is undertaking a development program to expand the existing biofiltration units and build a new membrane treatment line in the plant. The system upgrade is necessary to meet European Water Directives and the project is due to be completed by 2021.
