BRACHYTHERAPY An International Multidisciplinary Journal

Official Journal of the American Brachytherapy Society

Guide for Authors Aims and Scope: Brachytherapy is an international and multidisciplinary journal that publishes original peer-reviewed articles and selected reviews on the techniques and clinical applications of interstitial and intracavitary radiation in the management of cancers. Laboratory and experimental research relevant to clinical practice is also included. Related disciplines include medical physics, medical oncology, and radiation oncology and radiology. Brachytherapy publishes technical advances, original articles, reviews, and point/counterpoint on controversial issues. Original articles that address any aspect of brachytherapy are invited. Letters to the Editor-in-Chief are encouraged. General Guidelines: It is a condition of publication that manuscripts submitted to Brachytherapy have not been previously published and will not be simultaneously submitted or published elsewhere. Brachytherapy is published bimonthly by Elsevier Inc., New York, NY. Brachytherapy abides by the “Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals,” 5th ed (N Engl J Med 1997;336:309-315) as well as the American Medical Association Manual of Style, 9th ed.

Submission of Manuscripts: Brachytherapy now uses a Webbased online manuscript submission and review system. Please visit http://ees.elsevier.com/brachyjournal to submit your manuscript electronically. The website guides authors stepwise through the creation and uploading of the various files. Submit original sources files, not PDF files. A cover letter is required; please save this as a separate file for upload. Authors may send queries concerning the submission process, manuscript status or journal procedures to the Editorial Office. Once the submission files are uploaded the system automatically generates electronic (PDF) proof which is then used for reviewing. All correspondence, including the Editor’s decision and request for revisions, will be by e-mail. Only online submission is accepted. Authors may send queries concerning the submission process, manuscript status or journal procedures to the Editorial Office: Eve S. Ferdman, Managing Editor, Brachytherapy, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, 1275 York Avenue, Box 22, New York, NY 10065 (Tel: 212-639-8838, Fax: 917-432-2312, E-mail: [email protected]).
