Have you visited the ADA Web site lately? he long-awaited, much-anticipated American Dietetic Association Web site is here! Dependent on one’s screen dimensions, the Web site is anywhere from 12 inches to 15 feet in diameter and off the innovation growth charts for comparable food and nutrition Web sites. Our address is the same (www.eatright.org), but our new look and attitude reflect the ever-evolving world of food and nutrition research. Information on the Web site is divided into seven information kiosks found atop every page as buttons; public-side navigational buttons are as follows: Food & Nutrition Info, Careers/ Students, Conference and Events, Government Affairs, Continuing Education, Media and Product Catalog. Members can easily navigate by referring to these buttons: Food & Nutrition Info, Student Center, Governance, Professional Development, Media, and Product Catalog. The top buttons’ color coordinates to content; once a top button is depressed, the side frame turns the corresponding button color for ease in section identification. Content is also readily located by using the search engine, ever present in the right-hand corner; the product catalog now has its own search engine to quickly find any ADA item. ship ID into the login box found on the left-hand side of the home page, ignoring the password field. Members can jump to the public-side by clicking the “Public Home” link atop all pages. Aesthetics aside, the site is rich with new resources and information. Members can peruse a week’s worth of Daily News and thumb through online issues of Dietetics in Practice and On the Pulse they may have missed. Additionally, the Good Nutrition Reading List is now online and readily formatted for printing. Featured on the front page is the latest in food and nutrition information along with nutrition tips and Association news. Consumers are provided with up-to-date, accurate nutrition information as well as links to finding nutrition professionals. Journalists, who generate the nutrition issue du jour, are provided with ready access to food and nutrition experts through an online guide to ADA spokespeople. Members interested in being considered for a position as a spokesperson now have all the tools do so online. New sections provide members and consumers with value-added information and services including Priority Areas, found in the Government Affairs section, dedicated to ADA’s six federal priority issues. Visit the new Quality & Outcomes section featuring evidence-based practice and quality management resources. DPG members check out the new online calendar, practice team FAQ, and centralized DPG product order forms in the “Continuing Education” area.
