Hayward Tyler secures further funding for Luton expansion

H

ayward Tyler Group plc’s second and final issue under a £3 million secured loan note programme has raised approximately £1.4 million before costs to support the on-going development of the group’s Luton Centre of Excellence in the UK. The pump and motor manufacturer says that the development of the Luton site is on track and on budget. The extended facility, which is expected to be fully operational by July 2016, should increase throughput, cut lead times, reduce working capital and enable Hayward Tyler Luton to double its capacity. During the last six months, Hayward Tyler has demolished eight redundant buildings at the Luton site, completed the foundations for the building extension and started the construction of the test bays partly funded by the first issue under the programme. Ewan Lloyd-Baker, CEO of Hayward Tyler, said: “The expansion of our Luton operations, and the creation of a Centre of Excellence within the group at the location, forms a central component to our on-going growth plans. We are therefore delighted by the support received from institutional and high net worth investors through the programme.” London-based corporate finance and investment advisory firm Lesmoir-Gordon, Boyle & Co Ltd acted as arranger and placement agent for the loan note programme.

S

ulzer is expanding in North Africa with the acquisition of Expert International Pompe Service (EIPS), an independent pump maintenance and repair services provider based in Casablanca, Morocco. Founded in 2011, EIPS had revenues just short of CHF1 million in 2014. Since 2012, EIPS has been an exclusive partner for Sulzer Pompes France for the repair of pumps and has also acted as an agent for new equipment sales. The company will change its name to Sulzer Maroc and will expand its offerings to the full range of services for rotating equipment such as gas and steam turbines, compressors, generators as well as electrical motors. Sulzer Maroc will also support the new equipment business actively in Sulzer’s key markets oil and gas, power and water. Sulzer says EIPS will also serve as a platform to provide services and pumping solutions into other countries in North Africa. Peter Alexander, division president of Sulzer’s Rotating Equipment Services, said: “EIPS is a very good fit for us to grow our business in Morocco and North Africa. Customers will benefit from the enlarged offering and will be able to receive our solutions from one access point.”
