Sensors measure pressure and flow
Range features two impeller types
Microfluids specialist Dolomite has introduced a new range of sensor units for measuring and displaying pressure and flow rates in microfluidic systems.
Grundfos has launched a new range of SL submersible wastewater pumps which it asserts can help minimize known risk factors and reduce maintenance requirements and costs.
The Mitos Sensor Units feature a real-time display and low internal volumes, and are designed to minimise interference with the liquid flow. The display interfaces with each of the sensor units using a push-and-click action. The range comprises five flow rate sensors and one pressure sensor (-0.5 – 30 bar), which are fully interchangeable. Each device can run stand-alone or integrated with a Mitos P-Pump for the efficient logging of flow rate output. All data is transferrable to a PC for further analysis via USB.

The flow rate sensors can also be improved to communicate with the Mitos P-Pump to create a closed loop pumping system. This can enable the user to automatically control flow rates using pressure.
The XRW submersible mixer, which is designed for wastewater treatment, is reliable, requires no maintenance and improves equipment life-cycles. It also offers greater energy saving to cut power consumption and reduce the carbon footprint. It features a variable speed drive and precise speed control. ABS has also introduced XFP, a new range of submersible

The pumps also feature an Eff1-type motor and moistureproof plug comprising a two-component sealant filling the plug which prevents moisture from entering the motor via the cable core. They have a short rotor shaft and double mechanical shaft seal which helps cut maintenance time. www.yccpump.com/grundfos.htm

sewage pumps which offer high blockage resistance and lower operational costs. All pumps in the range are powered with an IE3 motor in accordance with IEC 60034-30. The motor capacity is from 1kW to 350 kW for the 50 Hz pump and 2 kW to 400 kW for the 60 Hz pump. There is a closed loop cooling system for models up to 350 kW (50 Hz) and 400 kW (60 Hz) and a Contrablock Plus advanced hydraulic system up to DN 200.
Vacon has developed a new range of compact variable speed drives (VSDs) that makes it possible to control three motors with a single drive using the company’s PFC (pump and fan control) technology. With PFC enabled, the drive uses its internal PI regulator to control the speed of the first of the three motors to match the demand for pressure, temperature or flow. When the first motor is running at full speed, the drive issues a command for the second motor to start. Similarly, when demand exceeds capacity with two motors running, the drive starts the third.

High efficiency SNE pump Rovatti has launched a EN 733-compliant SNE pump series which it claims can help improve efficiency and hydraulic performance and minimise maintenance costs.
accommodates solids up to four in, but is designed particularly for large flows of raw sewage.

Magnet motor for submersible mixer ABS has launched what it says is the first submersible mixer featuring a permanent-magnet motor.
The new SL range offers two types of impeller: the SLV/supervortex impeller which provides the free passage of solids up to 4 in (100 mm) in diameter, making it suitable for liquids with a content of solids, fibres or gassy sludge; and the SL1/channel impeller which also

seal and packed gland for all sizes (from DN 32 to DN 150). They have a back pull out design, making it possible to remove the hydraulic part without moving the motor and disconnecting the pump body and quickly replaceable wear rings. www.rovatti.it

Operation of the PFC system can be configured so that the same motor is always the lead, or so that the duties rotate around the motors to help ensure that they receive the same amount of use. The drives are available with power ratings from 0.25 to 2.2 kW for use with single-phase supplies, and 0.37 to 5.5 kW for use with three-phase supplies. They range in size from 66 x 157 x 98 mm to 100 x 262 x 109 mm depending on rating, and are equally suitable for screw fixing or for mounting on DIN rail. All VSDs in the range offer PI control as standard and all except the smallest units incorporate an integrated brake chopper. As an option, all versions can be supplied with internally mounted EMC filters that comply with the Category C2 requirements of EN 61800-3. Vacon 10 drives feature programmable I/O, comprising three digital inputs, one analogue input and one relay output for standard models. Versions are also available with six digital inputs, two analogue inputs, one digital output and two relay outputs. An RS485/ Modbus interface is a standard feature on all models. www.vacon.com
