It filters solids that have been settled in a clarifier or sludgethickener.The liquid gets squeezedout while the solids collect in the plate chambers.Oncethe filter press cycle is complete,the filter cake volume can be reduced further by using their batch-style, indirectly heated sludge dryer.

Operatingat low temperatures,the dryers produce uniform, dry granular product without dust or smoke, even for sludgeswith high oil and greasecontent.Dried sludge drops directly into a rolloff container below where it is easily handled.The dimensionsof the dryers are 68 in. wide and 54 in. high with a pan length of 240 in. for the 60-ft3 model and 300 in. for the 75ft3 model.
